Dearest Community,
On Friday, November 15, at 4:00 p.m., more results were released for the District 2 race. I am thrilled to share that we continue to hold a strong lead. While the results are not yet official, it is safe to say we have achieved a successful victory in the race for County Supervisor!
With my 15 years on the school board and Kristen Brown’s 8 years on the Capitola City Council, this race featured two candidates well-prepared for governance. I want to honor and commend Kristen for her dedication and desire to serve District 2.
As your new Supervisor, I promise to be accessible, to listen carefully, and to work hard every day on behalf of all residents of District 2. My focus will always be on improving the lives of the people we serve, finding solutions to the challenges we face, and creating opportunities that make a real difference for families, seniors, and workers across our community.
This week, I will attend a conference with fellow Supervisors and county staff as I prepare to take my seat on the Board. I am excited to roll up my sleeves and begin working on the important issues facing not just our district, but all of Santa Cruz County. I will strive to build coalitions, find consensus, and leave behind the polarization that has too often held us back.
To everyone who supported this campaign—volunteering, encouraging, and sharing our message—thank you from the bottom of my heart. This campaign succeeded because of you. I hope many of you will continue to advise and guide me in the years ahead. Your support and inspiration will remain key as we move forward together.
Thank you for believing in me, now let’s get to work!
With gratitude,
Kim
